SNAP Eat Well, Be Well Pilot Incentive Program SNAP Eat Well, Be Well Pilot Incentive Program The first statewide incentive program of its kind across the nation. See related news coverage here. The SNAP Eat Well, Be Well (EWBW) Pilot Incentive Program rewards health-conscious food purchases for customers using SNAP benefits. The pilot program works by giving customers $.50 in SNAP benefits for every $1 spent on qualifying fruits and vegetables at participating retailers. Only in-store purchases count towards the accrual of additional benefits. All SNAP recipients are automatically enrolled in the program. The additional benefits, up to $25 a month, are loaded to the customer’s EBT card for the future purchase of qualifying SNAP products at in-store locations. Accumulated EWBW rewards are shown on customers’ grocery receipts, the HealthyRhode Mobile app, or through the Customer Portal (healthyrhode.ri.gov). A sample receipt showing earned EWBW benefits is viewable to the right.
