SNAP Employment & Training (SNAP E&T)

SNAP Employment & Training (SNAP E&T) is a package of training, services and supports designed to help SNAP recipients gain skills, earn credentials, set goals, stay focused and succeed on their Road to Work. Since 2011, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) has managed our State's SNAP E&T program for DHS.

The program is designed to provide SNAP recipients with a comprehensive set of services and supports, some of which are not typically covered by federal funding. Services include in-depth assessments; education and training; supplemental services like employment counseling and job retention services; and supports like transportation vouchers, childcare subsidies, and paid test and certification fees, interview clothing and more, that help participants successfully complete training, interview for jobs and retain those jobs once they are employed.
